New claims over genetic weapons
There's been a cool reaction by Russia to a US request to change the terms of the
1972 Anti-Ballistic Treaty. Moscow has ruled out making any changes which would
limit the deployment of anti-missile systems. Washington is concerned that it may
need to counter future threats from nations such as communist North Korea. The
request comes amid a startling new report on biological weapons. The British
Medical Association claims that within the next five to ten years, weapons could be
developed which would wipe out an entire ethnic group.
