プログラムの紹介／World Youth Fest in Hokkaido

　２０００年から始まった「ワールド･ユース･フェスト･イン･ホッカイドウ」は、道内の中学生が、世界から集まった子どもたちと北海道の大自然の中でさまざまな楽しい活動を通じて国際的な友情をはぐくみ、豊かな創造性や正しい国際認識を身につけてもらおう、というものです。また、ホームステイや日本文化体験などのプログラムでは、多くの市民の協力を得て、幅広い交流ができることを目指しています。
The World Youth Fest in Hokkaido started in 2000 to provide young people of Hokkaido and of the world with an opportunity to meet in a grand natural setting and to foster friendship while enjoying various activities. This international exchange project is expected to help youngsters learn creative thinking and deepen international understanding. The participants will experience broader exchanges while staying at host homes and enjoying cultural events.
　

○日本文化体験／First-hand experience of Japanese culture
　札幌市内の高校生やボランティアの指導により、海外ジュニアが茶道や剣道といった日本文化やけん玉やお手玉などの昔ながらの遊びを体験します。
High school students and volunteers of Sapporo will help overseas participants experience Japanese culture such as tea ceremony and kendo. They will also enjoy kendama (cup and ball) and otedama (beenbag tossing) together.

○ＷＹＦステージ(コカ･コーラステージ)／WYF Stage (Coca-Cola Stage)
　海外ジュニアが熱心に準備してきた自国の歌や踊りなど、趣向を凝らしたパフォーマンスを札幌市民に披露します。
Overseas participants will introduce their own country by way of folk songs and/or traditional dances.

○ホームステイ／Homestay
　札幌圏ホームステイ交流協会会員や国際親善大使を務める高校生の家庭の一部がホストファミリーとなり、海外ジュニアに日本の一般家庭の生活を体験してもらいます。
Thanks to the cooperation of the Greater Sapporo Homestay Exchange Association and host homes of high school students who will be involved with the World Youth Fest as group leaders, junior members will experience daily life of Japanese people first hand.

○日高プログラム／Hidaka Program
　道内からは一般公募の中学生45人と日高町からの5人が合流し、３泊４日の共同生活と楽しいプログラムを通して友情をはぐくみます。
Fifty junior high students including five from Hidaka town will join young students of overseas countries to enjoy three-day programs.

　 ・開会式／Opening ceremony
　 　道内の中学生(ジュニア)と海外ジュニアが初めて対面します。地元の「日高山岳太鼓保存会」の皆さんが太鼓演奏で参加者を歓迎します。
Junior members of Hokkaido and overseas meet at the opening ceremony. Hidaka Taiko Drum Group will welcome all the participants by playing the drum.
　 ・野外炊飯／Outdoor cooking
　 　皆で協力して夕食を作ります。バーベキューを食べながら、グループの交流を深めます。
Everybody will enjoy barbecue together.
　
　 ・共同制作／Collaborative art program
　 　「宇宙から届けられたメッセージに応える」というテーマをもとに、グループで知恵を出しあって、「私たちと彼方の宇宙をつなぐためのもの」と「その方法」を考え、制作します。 宇宙へ届けるものは、地球の緑あふれる自然が詰まっている贈り物です。　アートフィナーレでは、完成した作品を光や音、映像などで幻想的に演出します。
"Message from the universe" is the theme of the program. Each member of the group will exchange ideas on "something which connect us on the earth to the far universe" and "how to make it." "Something to be delivered to the universe" is a gift full of verdant nature of the earth. At the "Art Finale" products completed will be displayed beautifully using sound effect and illumination.
　
　 ・ワールドフェスティバル／World Festival
　 　各国のジュニアが、日高町の人たちと道内ジュニアに、用意してきたパフォーマンスを披露します。地元のよさこいチーム「ひだか樹魂舞」の踊りも披露され、参加者みんなで一緒に踊ります。
Overseas young students will perform dances and/or songs for citizens of Hidaka and junior high members of Hokkaido. They will be invited to dance Yosakoi dance together with local dance group.
　

○フェアウェルパーティー／Farewell party
　1週間の締めくくりとして、ホームステイでお世話になったホストファミリー、国際親善大使として参加した高校生など、このイベントに参加したさまざまな人たちが集まって、海外ジュニアとの最後の夜を楽しみます。
The farewell party will conclude the one-week long international exchange event. Host families, high school students and all those involved with the event will gather together to enjoy the last day of the World Youth Fest in Hokkaido.
